Police in Gbarnga has launched a massive search for a 9-year-old boy who went missing since Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2024 in Bong County. The Police search is a demand from angry residents of the Rubber Factory Community in Gbarnga, Bong County on February 5, 2024, when they stormed the Bong County Detachment to intervene in the search for a missing nine-year-old.
According to the furious residents, Little Moses T.K. Vesselee, who is famously known as Kuwai, from the Kpelle language meaning “Our Own” went missing during the afternoon hours of Sunday, February 4, 2024, when he, along with his parents and church members had all gone to dig sand at the bank of Jor River in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The citizens said Kuwai told his parents and other church members that he was going home to play with his friends in the community, and since then, he is yet to come home.
They expressed fear that delays in the search of Kuwai might lead to an undesirable situation, calling to mind many circumstances that had led to the killings of missing children in the county.
The Rubber Factory Community residents petitioned the Liberia National Police, Bong County Detachment, through its Commander, Fasu Valai Sherriff, to investigate and intervene in the search for the mysterious disappearance of the 9-yr-old boy.
Kuwai is a 5th grade student of the Community House Elementary and Junior High School in Rubber Factory in Gbarnga, Bong County.
Commander Fasu Valai Sherriff said he and his men would institute all security measures since they obtained tipoff information regarding the disappearance of Kuwai, and expressed hope that the living body of the little boy will be found in the coming hours.
He, however, called on members of the Rubber Factory Community to assist the police with vital information in the discharge of their investigation to speedily establish the whereabouts of Kuwai.
