Deputy Chief Clerk Geplay Laid To Rest Today

Members of the Legislature snubbed the ceremony of the late Deputy Chief Clerk of House of Representatives’ when his body laid in State the Rotunda of the Capitol Building on Wednesday.

However, the body of Sayfurh Geplay was taken back to the St. Moses Funeral Parlors in Gardnersville where today, November 3, at 10AM, the funeral service will take place.

The body will then be removed from the St Moses Funeral Parlors thereafter and interred at the St. Moses burial site in Brewerville, Montserrado County.

In the ceremonials on Wednesday, 1 November, the remains was removed from the St. Moses Funeral Parlors in Gardnersville, to the Rotunda of the Capitol Building, where he was laid in State as per custom.

Several colleagues, family, and friends gathered and paid tributes to honor the memory of the life, legacy, and service of J. Sayfurh Geplay amplifying his respectful and dignified dedicated service but with a noticeable presence of four Representatives and not a single senator.

The late Geplay will be remembered for dedicated service especially to the House of Representatives for many years and the Legislature in general. He was born on July 6, 1952 and died on October 15, 2023.
