As the upcoming Presidential and Legislative Elections approach, Montserrado County District 10 Representative candidate, Josephine Davies, has announced her commitment to developing education and healthcare facilities in District 10, if elected.

Madam Davies, former Inspector General at the Ministry of Commerce and an esteemed community leader and advocate for public welfare, also expressed her resolute mission to bring lasting positive change to the district, beginning 2024.

Speaking over the weekend, at the newly inaugurated campaign office in the heart of Peace Island Community, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) candidate also vowed to advocate for the development of the district, both local and international.

Recognizing the vital importance of access to quality education, Davies outlined her plans to construct a state-of-the-art school that meets the educational needs of the District 10 community.

She emphasized that every child, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to receive an excellent education, stressing that by investing in education, the district would not only empower its youth but also foster a more prosperous future for the entire community.

The proposed school, according to Davies, aims to combine modern learning techniques with a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century.

Davies also highlighted the significance of providing a stimulating learning environment equipped with advanced technologies and dedicated educators, as well as the purchasing of a 10-seater bus, intended to commute students and instructors.

In addition to her commitment to education, Davies recognizes the pressing need for accessible healthcare services in District 10, assuring to work tirelessly to establish a fully equipped hospital that offers comprehensive medical services to all residents.

Davies at the same time emphasized that the hospital would not only provide critical healthcare facilities but also create employment opportunities, invigorate the local economy, and attract skilled healthcare professionals to the district.

To ensure the success of her ambitious plans, Davies aims to collaborate with local stakeholders, including community leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, and parents, disclosing that said plans has already been crafted by both parties.

She expressed her intention to establish a transparent and inclusive approach that solicits input from all members of the district, ensuring that the school and hospital, including projects that will be initiated by her office, serve the needs of the community.

Meanwhile, during the campaign office inauguration, the CDC candidate also outlined her fundamental principles of good governance, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership.

She pledged to make District 10 a shining example of a well-governed community, where the interests and aspirations of its residents are at the forefront of all decision-making processes.

To promote a sense of unity and inclusivity, Madam Davies revealed that the newly launched campaign office will serve as a hub for engaging with constituents, organizing community outreach programs, and facilitating public consultations.

As she concluded her speech, Davies called upon the residents of District 10 to rally behind her vision of a prosperous and equitable community, urging voters to support her candidacy, and said, “Because together, we can create the change necessary to secure a brighter future for all.”

The upcoming elections in District 10 promise to be an exciting and decisive moment for its residents, as Davies faces stiff competition from the incumbent Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, who has been very vocal against the CDC government for bad governance and other ills affecting the country.
