The University of Liberia Faculty and Staff Association (ULFA/SA) have re-echoed their position that the Dean of A. Romeo Horton College of Business and Public Administration, Lester Tenny, is now considered a “Persona-non- grata” to both institutions.
This revelation was made in a joint press statement held yesterday, by the leadership of the two associations.
It can be recalled that on July 21, 2023, the University of Liberia Faculty Association (ULFA) Emergency General Assembly made the decision against the Dean for his alleged constant insults, bullying, intimidation, and molestation of their members, including the president and executive members of the association.
Also, the recent Emergency General Assembly of the University of Liberia Staff Association (ULSA) endorsed the decision of their counterparts, ULFA.
Though this decision has since been challenged by Dr. Tenny, stating that he was neither appointed nor a member of ULFA, the statement said both ULFA and ULSA signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint collaboration on issues that affect the welfare of both institutions.
Going forward, in order to uphold the mandate of the GA, the leadership of ULFA has officially informed the Administration of the University of Liberia of the resolution of faculty, through the office of the president of the University.
“The leadership requests the UL Administration to do the needful, to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for teaching and learning”
ULFA indicated that as the new semester has started, both associations are unwavering on their position to the UL Administration that the Dean of Business College is a “Persona-non-grata.
The release also stressed that both ULFA and ULSA cannot work with Dr. Tenny, stating that the Dean in question does not value or respect his colleagues within the same profession.
“Through the release, signed by ULFA Secretary General, Eric T. S. Patten, it said that their members will therefore not comply with instructions from the office of the Dean nor cooperate with him.”
