Writ Of Arrest Out For Minister Wilhelmina Jallah, Others

By Grace Q. Bryant
The Civil Law Court Judge, Kennedy Peabody, has ordered a Writ of Arrest on Minister Wilhelmina Jallah and Ministry of Finance, for failure to comply with the court order.
Those to be arrested are Minister Wilhelmina Jallah, Minister of Health & Social Welfare, Finance & Development Planning, Liberia, Deputy Ministries, and Assistant Ministers.
The court’s decision was based on a judgment which was rendered on April 18, in which the court sent a mandate to the respondent/defendant to comply with the said judgment.
Judge Peabody noted that due to the refusal of respondent to comply with the judgment and mandate of the court, a Bill of Information was filed on May 11, heard, and the determination made, in which the court held the respondent in contempt, to show cause, if any, why they should not be held in contempt of court, and why said respondent has refused to comply with this court judgment and mandate.
Revealing that the respondent again refused, neglected, and failed to appear as requested by the court, up to and including today’s date.
“Therefore, the act of the respondent is disrespectful to this court by their refusal to comply with its mandate; the clerk of this court is ordered to issue a writ of arrest for respondent ministers, all deputy ministers, and assistant ministers, to be arrested and brought to this court and show cause, if any, why they cannot be held in contempt of court and be incarcerated for their disrespect and disregard for the rule of law,” the court mandated.
