The second edition of the Paynesville Preseason Cup is expected to kick off today, August 2, 2023, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Practice Pitch in Paynesville.
The tournament is an off season clash for teams to prepare for the new season and is being hosted by newly promoted first division outfit, Paynesville Football Club. The host, along with six Liberian based first and second division teams, plus a non-division Sierra Leonean team, will participate in the five day event.
The host, Paynesville FC, will face newly promoted Orange Second Division side, Discoveries Sports Academy, in today’s opening match at 2 PM, while Heaven Eleven and Fredo of Sierra Leone will face each other later today at 4 PM.
On Thursday, August 3, 2023, NPA Anchor and Brewerville United will battle at 2 PM, while Global Pharma and FC Garou will square off at 4 PM.
The first winner will walk away with L$ 100,000, while the second winner will receive L$ 50,000.
Several individual awards will also be given to deserving players after the tournament.
