The Director of Press and Public Affairs of the House of Representatives, Robert Haynes, has cautioned young students to set ambitious goals in their quest to climb the ladder of success.
Serving as Guest Speaker, Sunday, at the graduation exercises of Keenan Institute Elementary & Junior High School, Director Haynes cautioned the graduates to remember that they have unique talents and abilities, and as such, nurturing themselves for a brighter future cannot be overemphasized.
He further called on the graduates to dream big, set ambitious goals, and believe in themselves, adding, “With hard work, determination, and perseverance, there is no limit to what you can achieve.”
“Today marks the end of a chapter, but it also signifies the beginning of a new adventure. As you transition to the next phase of your education, whether it be middle school or beyond, remember that the skills you have acquired and the values you have embraced will continue to guide you” he said.
He however cautioned the graduates to embrace curiosity, stay resilient in the face of challenges, and always strive for excellence.
The House Press Director used the occasion to extend gratitude to the incredible teachers and staff of Keenan Institute Elementary & Junior High school for their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment in nurturing the young minds, which he said has played a vital role in their academic journey.
Dir. Haynes acknowledged that the tireless efforts of the staff of the Institute have provided the young graduates with a solid foundation for their academic and personal development.
He also applauded the parents and guardians who, he noted, have supported their children throughout their journey, pointing out, “Today is a testament to your love, encouragement, and sacrifice. Your unwavering support has been instrumental in helping these students reach their potential. Thank you for entrusting us with their education and partnering with us in their growth”.
He also encouraged the young graduates to reflect on the journey that brought them to their current status and remember the times when they were faced with difficulties and how such difficulties were overturned with determination.
“In closing, I want to express my deepest pride in each and every one of you. You have enriched our lives, and we are grateful to have been part of your journey. As you move forward, carry with you the memories and lessons learned from this remarkable elementary school.” Dir. Haynes concluded.
