Logan Takes Lone Star Local Based Captain-ship

While the national team, the Lone Star’s local-based team is in preparations for training ahead of the draws of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), Coach Ansumane Keita has named Fasedu Logan as captain of the squad.

Logan of Watanga Football Club’s appointment replaces LISCR goalkeeper Tommy Songo who led the team in the last edition of the competition but the shoot stopper was not called by Coach Keita due to unknown reasons.

Logan was named to lead the home-based national along with Christopher Jackson as assistant captain on Tuesday June 4, 2023 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe in Paynesville where the team is holding trainings for the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.

Logan, coach of the former league champions, has been an influential player in the Orange National League and has been called up on numerous occasions to the national team.

“It is a privilege to be named captain of the home-based national team. Sometimes people notice qualities in you that you do not recognize in yourself. I am aware that this position carries a lot of responsibility, and I am grateful for the chance and look forward to working with my teammatesm” Logan stated.

Meanwhile, the local base team training which started Saturday July 1, 2023 conducted its third session yesterday with basic customary ball-handling techniques and a scrimmage.

Players and staff members of the team performed series of physical speed and agility drills at the start of their daily exercise routine.
