Gbarpolu County’s Electoral District 2 representative aspirant, Luther Sandi Collins has decried the poor living condition of residents of the county and promised to initiate an improve situation if elected in the pending October polls.
He said residents of Gounwallah had been marginalized by poor representation at the legislature since Gbarpolu gain county status from the government during the tenure of President Charles Taylor, stating that the lack of road network, safe drinking water and good healthcare facility necessitated his desire to contest for the district seat.
Before joining the political queue to aim of emancipating his people from untold suffering and the denial of social facilities, Collins was described as a savior who returned to Liberia in 2014 from abroad.
He provided assorted food and none food items, medicines and PPEs to residents of the district during the as Ebola and covid-19 outbreaks which claimed many lives in the country.
He has been recognized as for his contribution in renovating town halls, public facilities carrying out village saving loans intended to lift residents out of poverty as well as the construction of hand pumps.
In 2016, Collins built a wooden canoe with mobile engine that has a capacity of transporting about 15 persons across the river to get to the district.
Setting key priorities for the district, the representative hopeful disclosed that the district needs to support its own initiatives making health, education and economic growth the best to invest into.
He maintained that there is a need for everyone in the district to work around people with a best interest of the country if not only limited to the county. Gounwallah electoral district is the largest district in Gbarpolu County with over 18, 000 voters.
