The Administration of Margibi County has broken ground for two major development projects including the construction of a five-classroom school and a town hall in both upper and lower Margibi.
In brief remarks during the ground breaking ceremony held recently at the facility of the Rev. W. K. Moore School in 26 Gate Community, the Assistant Superintendent for Development, J. Francis Karpu said the five-classroom school will be constructed in the 26th Gate community for the Rev. William K. Elementary School in Upper Margibi and the town hall will be constructed in Unification City in District 2, Lower Margibi.
Superintendent Karpu said the administrator of Margibi was deeply grateful to break ground for the construction of these projects in the county.
“As required by law, Innovation Construction, Inc., a Liberian Contractual firm has been hired through a competitive bidding process in strict compliance with the Public Procurement Concession Commission laws to carry out the construction work within the period of four Months period,” Mr. Karpu said.
According to the Liberia News Agency, the projects are being implemented by Margibi County Administration with funding from the County Social and Development Funds and puts the cost at over US$56,000.
Community dwellers including other Stakeholders have welcome the school annex construction project on behalf of their Children who they said oftentimes walked miles away from 26 gate to Kakata in pursuit of Junior, and senior high education.
