22nd Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition

The Director of Political Department at the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, Wang Dazhi has described language as a bond that connects people together through time and space that should be respected as the enthusiasm for learning the Chinese language has been growing worldwide.
Wang Dazhi said, more and more Liberian friends are joining the ranks of Chinese learners, something he is convinced that, as devoted learners of the Chinese language there must have been many discoveries of its beauty and the rich history.
According to him, the cultural heritage embodied in each Chinese character enables Liberians to get to learn about China’s five-thousand-year long civilization and the value of the peace and harmony that are deeply rooted in the blood of Chinese culture and Chinese people.
Speaking at 22nd “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students in Liberia, the Chinese diploma expressed excitement to have this year’s competition was very successful noting that it was possible base on the youthful energy and self-confidence shown by Liberians.
“I’m delighted to attend the 22nd Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition in Liberia. This year’s competition was very successful and we were deeply impressed by your youthful energy and self-confidence. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all the contestants,” he said.
He added that in recent years, the Chinese government under the administration of President Xi Jinping has proposed the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, together with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The nature behind the BRI and other visions including the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and Global Security Initiative (GSI) echoes the traditional Chinese philosophy of pursuing harmony, peace and win-win cooperation.
He said, “These visions help us to foster a new type of security and co-existence and common development that replace confrontation, alliance and a zero-sum approach with dialogue, partnership and win-win results.”
Director Wang Dazhi maintained that the “Chinese Bridge” as a bridge of dialogue and exchange between the people of China and Liberia who enjoy traditional friendly ties. People-to-people exchange is one of the five important areas of B&R cooperation and education cooperation is an important platform. We are delighted to note that education cooperation between our two countries has achieved fruitful results in recent years.
He asserted that the world is going to become a better place for all in coexistence once peace and diversity in culture and nature is tolerant.
“As the world undergoes profound changes, and multi-polarity, economic globalization and cultural diversity gain momentum, facing these once-in-a-century changes and a world in turmoil, I believe that only when we see the world as one family, promote exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations and follow the principles of mutual respect and seeking common ground while settling differences between countries can we build a community with a shared future for mankind and create a more secure and brighter future for the world,” Dazhi noted.
