Tonia Tisdell Dropped! …As Chicks, Friends Invade Lone Star’s Hotel

Information filtering from the camp of Lone Star says Liberia’s English Coach, Peter James Butler, has recommended the immediate replacement of Cyprus based midfielder, Tonia Tisdell. The decision according to insiders, is due to an act of indiscipline exhibited by Tisdell during and after the Liberia versus Sierra Leone match at the SKD Sports Complex.
Sources closed to the team’s camp hinted that the decision was reached following a reported fist-fight in the bus involving Tisdell and another unnamed player while en route to the hotel where the Lone Star was lodged.
The source revealed that Butler’s request was submitted to the Executive Committee (EC) of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) for immediate consideration. An eyewitness account said that it all started when Tisdell refused to honor the country’s national anthem by standing, and that his action caused him to be benched by the technical staff of the team.
“Tisdell refused to standup for the national anthem because he insisted that he should have started the match and it was not the case,” the insider added.
Tonia Tisdell was one of the inspirations in the second quarters of Liberia’s home match against Sierra Leone at the SKD Sports Complex as his introduction lifted the team’s aggressiveness something which resulted to two late goals.
According to the insider, Coach Butler had earlier expressed disappointment over how friends and family members of the players invaded the team’s camp. His disappointment stemmed from the fact that the team needed to stay away from other public engagements and stay concentrated because of the huge task ahead of them in Freetown Sierra Leone.
The Lone Star’s camp was reportedly invaded by supporters, relatives and girlfriends of the players after a serious security breakdown at the team’s hotel just behind the SKD which led to a floodgate. Relatives and chicks were seen in their numbers forcing their way into the team’s hotel, something which seriously infuriated the English Coach who is a ‘No Nonsense Man’ disciplinarian.
Our source has also confirmed that the coach’s decision has reached the EC, and that it seems to be resonating amongst all its members as 99% is unofficially supporting the coach’s decision; it is only a matter of announcing it. The FA is still tightlipped on the matter as neither the Coach nor the FA could comment on the situation resulting to the coach’s decision.
