A report emanating the corridors of the County Attorney office in Sanniquellie says the 8th judicial circuit court will soon be hearing the armed robbery case linking former militia general, Abu Weamie, during the next term of court in the country.
Suspect Weamie was arrested by PSU after declaring him wanted for an alleged armed robbery that led to mob violence thereby killing Sabu Yeagen in Ganta, Nimba County.
Speaking to this paper in an exclusive interview, a state security officer assigned in the county disclosed to this paper that suspect Weamie is an Ivorian former militia general who fought alongside the rebels in Ivory Coast during the civil war in that country.
According to LNP, suspect Weamie was charged with armed robbery in absentia in connection with an incident that took place in Saclepea that left business owners wounded during a heavy shoot out.
A LNP female officers described suspect Weamie as a most dangerous and notorious armed robber in the country.
During the beginning of last week, a huge ammunition of AK 47 and GMG gun shots was discovered in a banana bush at the same vicinity where suspect Weamie was arrested by the PSU in Blaglay Town Community outside Ganta.
A state security officers disclosed that the preliminary investigation reveals that some senior LNP officers assigned in the county cell phone numbers was found in suspect Weamie phone.
Since the arrest, detention of the former militia ex. General many of the senior state security remain tight-lipped over names of those senior LNP officers couple with their areas of assignment in the county.
When this paper contacted the MOJ. County Attorney John Miah at the 8th. Judiciary circuit Court in Sanniquellie, confirmed detention of suspect Weamie at the central prison in Sanniquellie pending court trial.
According to the government prosecutor county attorney Miah, suspect Weamie has finally been charged with arms robbery by the juries and is expected to appear before court next term of opening of the 8th judiciary circuit court in the country.
