Where Is Liberty Party? ..As NEC Recognizes Only CPP

As Liberia gets closer to October 10, the date set for the Presidential and Legislative elections, the whereabouts of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine’s Liberty Party (LP) has been a keen issue in the eyes of political pundits and the Liberians at large.
It was strange at the event that was held in Margibi when Liberty Party, a party that was owned by a respecter of the law, Cllr. Brumskine was not seen on the occasion marking the Farmington River Declaration which brought together twenty seven political leaders in Magibi County.
From our Executive Mansion reporter who covered the Farmington River Declaration, the name of the Liberty Party and the Alternative National Congress (ANC) headed by Alexander B. Cummings were not mentioned as recognized political parties but regrettably, he only heard the name of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP).
Nyonblee is being poised to be picked by Former Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai as running mate in the ensuing elections, October 10, 2023 elections, but as it stands, no one knows whether or not the LP not being recognized by the National Elections Commission could hamper her chances to be picked.
The Grand Bassa County Senator is battling with the name of her colleague, and current Nimba County Senator, Jeremiah Koung to be selected by former Vice President Boakai.
