ULFA Outgoing President Gets Accolade …outlines Major Achievements

The University of Liberia Faculty Association (ULFA) bestowed its former President, veteran lawyer, Cllr. J. Viama Blama with accolade as “President Emeritus” and outlined major achievements under his watch at its General Assembly held on Friday August 30, 2019.
On Friday August 30, 2019, ULFA held its General Assembly meeting and gowned its former President, Cllr. J.Viama Blama and give him a certificate of Honor as President Emeritus.
Presenting him with a certificate of Honor, the new President Cllr. Molley M. Gray said, “Mr. President Emeritus, we take pleasure and on behalf of ULFA, we present this certificate to you, and the reason thereof is because you are very dedicated and you do not listen to the public”
He reminded the outgoing president that, if he had listen to the noise, he wouldn’t have accomplished what he achieved today.
The certificate of Honor was read by instructor/Rev. Lemuel Harris who is also serving as Chaplain for ULFA leadership.
Reading the Certificate of Honor, Rev. Harris said, “The University of Liberia Faculty Association (ULFA) acknowledges you as an eminent and hard working leader at the University of Liberia, in view of this fact, we hereby honor you Asst. Prof/Cllr. J. Viama Blama as President Emeritus” he added.
For his part, Cllr. Blama applauded ULFA for remembering him and extended appreciation to the Executive Committee of ULFA. “Rest assure that my departure does not mean that I have left the walls of the University , am still with the University as a lecturer and in my new position as the General Counsel of the University, I will ensure that whatever you do my doors will be open to officials of ULFA” he added
Meanwhile, in his turn over note to the body, Cllr. Blama named some of his achievements as, the completed furnishing of ULFA’s official office, a successfully negotiated Loan Agreement with Ecobank which members of ULFA stand to currently benefit , unassumingly raising the integrity and profile of ULFA, making unprecedented history by honoring ULFA members and Past Presidents of the University of Liberia (first of its kind in the history of ULFA, Planning, organizing and conducting a symposium for faculty with a view to introducing faculty members to proposal and project writing – ( first of its kind in the history of ULFA) among other things.
