Odell Sherman’s Mother Promises Justice For Dead Daughter

The mother of the late Odell P. Sherman, Cynthia Sherman on Friday promised to engage every circumstances surrounding the death of her daughter in order to dispense justice for her, while at the same time, families, friends and other organizations were seen in tears at the St. Moses Funeral Palors on the Somalia Drive Freeway paying their last tribute to the mother for the remains of the late Odell, as her body has finally been laid to rest in the Thinker Village Community on the Robertsfield Highway.
It can be recalled that few months ago, the late Odell’s lifeless body was found lying down in the Home of one Rev. Emmanuel Giddings on the Robertsfield Highway in Duazon Community that prompted many residents of that community to take to the street in protest calling on government to investigate her death.
After several weeks of what seemed to be silence from the government, the mother of the late Odell and other student organizations were seen lying down in front of the Liberia National Police (LNP) Headquarter in Monrovia protesting for the ‘government’s weakness to investigate the death of Odell, while Rev. Emmanuel Giddings who they (Odell Family) terms as suspect was seen plying in the streets of which they said the government should call him’ as person of interest.’
After several months of what they called ‘struggle for justice’ the family said they have not received any concrete result to date, so the parents of the late Odell then decided to bury her on what they termed as ‘government’s failure to dispense justice in the death of our daughter.’
Paying her last respect to the home going of her daughter, Mrs. Sherman noted that she had struggled with her daughter for eight years to get her education and only to realize that one person came and frustrated her effort and left her broken hearted.
“I have struggled for justice in this country as far as lying down on car roads, yet I have not received any justice; from media to media; yet no justice, while justice cannot be dispensed to those who are poor but only the rich,” she alluded.
Also paying tribute was the Liberia National Student Union (LINSU) who was seen with a banner carrying the inscription ‘Who Killed Odell?’ expressed their deepest condolence to the family of the late Odell as well as expressed their dissatisfaction in the government for their failure in dispensing justice for the late Odell.
