The ruling Coalition for Democratic Change has been renamed to join the Grand Coalition for Democratic Change following the decision of six opposition political parties to join ranks aimed at ensuring that President George Manneh Weah gets one round victory comes October 10.
Over the weekend, six opposition political parties officially joined full ranks with the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change thereby changing the name to the Grand Coalition for Democratic Change.
The six opposition political parties include, the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) of the late Dr. Daniel E. Cassell, the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), the Union of Liberian Democrats (ULD), United People’s Party (UPP), the Redemption Democratic Congress (RDC) and Change Democratic Action (CDA).
The joint statement of these parties joining the CDC was submitted by Tapple E. Doe, political leader of the PLP to the national Chair of the CDC, Mulbah K. Morlu.
The parties in their joint statement released, are confident of President Weah’s reelection is based on the many development that he is carrying out in all 15 counties.
