The alleged disappearance of some institutional funding allotted to Bong County seemed to be unaccounted for as the government-run Dolokelen Gboveh Multilateral High School in Gbarnga Principal is raising alarm over an alleged 2020-2021 national budget funding for the school in the county.
Dolokelen Gboveh was established in 1957 as a high school in the county that opens its doors to thousands of students every academic year in Bong County.
Rev. P. Harvey Willie said Dolokeleh Gboveh Multilateral High School being the biggest public institution was captured in the 2020-2021 national budget in the tone of US$7,875, but that said amount was never received.
The principal described the alleged squandering of the school’s fund by some unscrupulous individuals as a serious embarrassment for the institution’s growth and development; stating that the Dolokelen Gboveh High School is currently challenged in terms of seating capacity, school campus security (fence) and the lack of safe drinking water.
Mr. Willie said the only hand-pump that has been catering to the school and community dwellers in terms of providing safe drinking water is completely damaged; something he said is hampering the smooth operation of the government’s leading institution in the county.
The principal expressed disappointment in the Bong County Legislative Caucus’ alleged failure to capture the school in the 2023-2024 national budget.
He said it is quite worrisome that the Bong County Legislative Caucus has not been able to advocate for the mother school so as it have it captured in this year’s national budget.
Many political pundits in county have branded members of the Caucus as greedy politicians who are self-centered and selfish on grounds that they are only interested in their personal development in the county.
The critics of the Bong County Legislative Caucus have promised to join the students and administration of the Dolokelen Gboveh High School in demand of the school’s fund and other funds that have been allegedly illegally squandered by some members of the Caucus.
