The Liberia National Police Bong County Detachment has revealed that since the discovery of the alleged abandoned five-month-old baby in a rubber farm on the Palala-Ganta Highway, Bong County; they have not gotten anyone to claim the innocent baby.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Inquirer Newspaper on February 28, 2023, the LNP Bong County Commander Fasu V. Sheriff said that since the discovery of the child, nobody has claimed or identified the baby’s partners in the county.
The Bong County Police Commander said that the Commander of the Women and Children Protection Division of the LNP Bong County Detachment, Hawa Kornah has taken charge of the child, adding that the child is currently at an orphanage home in the county.
The LNP Bong Detachment Commander said that they are still in search of the mother of the alleged abandoned baby.
It can be recalled that on February 9, 2023, a little child was discovered by local marketers who had gone to sell their produce at the Palala Market in the county.
The Bong County LNP Commander quoted marketers as saying that upon the discovery of the baby boy by them, he was quickly rushed to the Palala Health Center for medical attention.
He revealed that upon their arrival at the Palala Clinic, medical practitioners at the health facility referred the baby to the Phebe Hospital for proper care where the baby was admitted at the Phebe Hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the down-to-earth Police Commander said the medical bill of the child was paid by the LNP Bong County Detachment, on grounds that their primary concern is the improvement of the child’s life.
Commander Sheriff’s said up to press time, there has not been anyone discovered to be the parent of the little child or any arrest made in the county.
