Bong County Electoral District 7 Representative, Joseph Papa Kolleh has donated a Mobile Health Clinic Ambulance to the people of District 7 in the county.
Speaking at the turning-over ceremony on February 18, 2023, in Sanoyea Town, Rep. Kolleh said the Mobile Health Clinic Ambulance will be used to provide health care services to residents of the Sanoyea and Fuamah Administrative Districts.
He said that the ambulance will be available to transport patients who are a distance away from the various health facilities across District 7 in Lower Bong County.
The Bong County Electoral District 7 Representative said the Mobile Clinic will help to buttress the Ministry of Health in its fight to improve the health care delivery system in the country.
Representative Rep. Kolleh is the only lawmaker in Bong County that has a Mobile Clinic Ambulance.
The ALP caucus Chairman revealed that it is not his first time providing an ambulance for the mobile clinic in the District, noting, “When I was elected in the 2017 General and Presidential Elections, in 2018, I purchased an ambulance for the mobile health clinic and that was intended to treat my people but that ambulance broke down in 2020,” he explined.
“So, I decided to purchase the new one for the mobile health clinic because the mobile health clinic is very helpful to my people in this District as the District is challenged when it comes to health facility. The only referral hospital in this District is the Bong Mines Hospital which is in Farmah District, and you know that before you enter Bong Mines from Sanoyea District, you will have to go through Kakata, Margibi County because there is no road here to enter Bong Mines,” Rep. Kolleh noted.
The Bong County Electoral District 7 Representative further said that the donation of the ambulance to the mobile clinic is in continuation of the district’s development agenda in the county.
ALP’s caucus Chairman said further that he was humble to provide his residents with the mobile clinic ambulance because their wellbeing is his paramount concern in the county.
Notwithstanding, Rep. Kolleh said the maintenance and staff salary of the mobile clinic will be paid by him putting the estimated cost of mobile clinic Ambulance at a little over US$12.
He said the mobile health clinic will not treat patients free, adding that patients will pay just a little amount of money in order to have drugs in the ambulance at all times.
Representative Kolleh said he is not interested in dishing out money to citizens, but what he is interested in is transforming the livelihoods of residents in District 7.
The former Bong County Legislative Caucus chairman further revealed that all the projects he’s doing in the district are being funded from his pocket, not a legislative project or a county project.
He also challenged the opposition community of the district to bring development to the people and not just the mere usual negative propaganda throughout their lives.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Sonayea District, Junior Giddings, lauded the District 7 Representative for the donation of the mobile health clinic with assurance that the district will take proper care of it.
At the same time, Wolapolu Clan Paramount Chief, Isaiah Harris praised Rep. Kolleh for the initiative in the district and said that the mobile clinic ambulance will help to improve the health care delivery system of District 7 and Bong County at large.
