The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) is craving the Joint budget committee for an additional US$ 1 million in the FY 2023 Budget for operational purposes.
Defending the LACC Budget at the Public Budget hearing of the Joint Legislative Committee, LACC Commissioner David Wilson who proxied for the Executive Director said the integrity institution is struggling with mobility and named vehicles as major impediments to the workings of the institution.
He added that, the addition of the One Million Dollar will help to purchase a vehicle for the enforcement division of the commission.
According to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning gave the institution a budget ceiling in the amount of US$ 2, 348, 657 which is unable to run the institution for one year.
Wilson also noted that the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission is thirsty of staff increment as the institution is currently understaffed.
He maintained that the integrity arm has in its employ of less than eighty persons thus causing the low execution of duties- requesting for at least twenty Additional staff at the entity
