Liberian Referees Prepare For Men’s U-20 AFCON Finals

FIFA-badged referee Hassan Corneh and FIFA-badged assistant referee Joel Doe are undergoing a preparatory course for the TotalEnergies men’s under-20 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cairo, Egypt.
Corneh and Doe, who were preselected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on 17 January, left Monrovia for Cairo on 12 February.
They are part of 46 referees and assistant referees (23 per category), two women’s referees, four assistant referees and six video assistant referees, who are undergoing the preparatory course from 13-18 February.
According to CAF, the head of refereeing and football technology Noumandiez Desire Doue, they will undergo physical and theoretical tests and practical training during the course.
Doue said unsuccessful candidates will return home and their football associations will bear all related costs.
He said the final list of referees or assistant referees appointed to the finals will be published on 17 February.
