Weah Congratulates Cuba On 64th Independence Anniversary

President George Manneh Weah has congratulated the President, Government and People of the Republic of Cuba on the auspicious occasion marking the 64th Independence Anniversary on January 1, 2023.


According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah extended sincere best wishes to his Cuban counterpart, His Excellency Migual Diaz-Canel, and through him, to the Government and People of Cuba, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name.


The Liberian leader said as Cuba commemorate this monumental milestone, Cuba can be assured of the appreciation of the People of Liberia for the historic bonds of cooperation, and cordial friendship subsisting between the two countries and Peoples, reflected in the increasing collaboration, manifested by the maintenance of the Cuban Mission near Monrovia.


President Weah recalled Cuba’s enormous contributions to Liberia, reiterating that under his administration, the longstanding relations between Cuba and Liberia will continue to be cordial adding Liberia is grateful to the people Cuba for their generous support to the government and people of Liberia in empowering Liberians and the provision of several scholarship in various fields amongst other things which presents the opportunity to bolster efforts in furthering the deep historic ties.


President Weah then prayed that His Excellency, Migual Diaz-Canel, enjoys continued good health, and longevity as he leads his resilient people to prosperity, peace and national cohesion, noting that the bilateral cooperation subsisting between the two countries will continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefits of the two countries’ mutual interest in the fields of health, science and technology.
