By S. Siapha Mulbah

As the qualifying judgment of other counties remains undecided in the National County Sports Meet, the team of girls representing River Cess County in the Kickball category has booked the first sport in the competition’s next stage to Monrovia.

With six points being the highest so far in the competition, River Cess is settled to move to Monrovia to participate in the quarter final rounds after winning her first two matches in group ‘A’ hosted in Grand Bassa.

In the opening match, River Cess defeated her host at the Doris Williams Sports Pitch making four home runs over Grand Bassa two homes that decided the balance of the group.

Yesterday afternoon, the girls from Cestos City relived themselves of the stress of looking for a compulsory win during their match day-three by eliminating and dashing the hope of Grand Gedeh County who is performing very poorly in the kickball version of the National County Sports Meet.

At the end of five Innings, the first qualified team had four homes against a homeless Grand Gedeh who could perhaps be on their way out of the competition.

Other counties to fight their way through to the next round with greater opportunities are Bong, Garpoplu, Lofa Counties that are sited with four points in their various groups and could all be looking for draw against their opponents in match day-three slated for Saturday, December 24, 2022.

Cape Mount, Grand Bassa, Bomi, Nimba and Margibi Counties could as well book their seats to the next stage of the competition based on positive results from the last fixtures pending from the weekend.

In Group ‘A’, Grand Bassa will face Grand Gedeh to complete the qualifying round while Grand Cape Mount has to collect a compulsory win from the already qualified River Cess team to get to Monrovia.

On the same day, Bong and Gbarpolu Counties who are anticipating draw to advance will meet, and a losing side’s future will be decided by Margibi who is two points up against Sinoe at the David Kuyon Sports Pitch.

Lofa will meet Bomi at Voinjama Sports Pitch while Nimba faces River Gee as Grand Kru goes against Montserrado in Maryland County.
