Calm Restored To Red Light-Pipeline Road …But Residents Threaten Zogos

Calm is said to have been restored in the Red Light-Pipeline Road after a riot that lead to the death of one of the community dwellers identified as Johnson Flomo and four other disadvantage youths commonly called Zogos over the weekend. The Red Light-Pipeline Road was on Sunday morning a battle field scene which witnessed some Zogos harassing the deceased, Johnson for his personal belongings including cellphones and a bag containing his laptop but upon his refusal, he was stabbed in the neck thus leading to his death.
Apparently because the act was carried out by the zogos, our reporter who visited the scene yesterday saw marketers and residents in the street selling while others were carrying out their normal businesses even though the expression of frustration was written all over their faces.
One of the marketers who begged not to be mentioned explained that Johnson was on his way to service when some zogos carrying machetes attacked him thereby scaring away other residents and marketers.
She narrated that due to the brutal incident which lasted for almost four to five hours had normal activities disrupted but was later calmed down by the intervention of the Liberia National Police (LNP).
“Thank God for the people who are living on the Pipeline Road, the motorcyclists as well as the police because it was not essay on Sunday. I lost my money bag, phone and almost all my market got damaged because everybody was running for their lives. I really want the President to do something about this zogos business,” she explained.
Another person who witnessed the fight explained, “The child who says his Ma with not sleep; that child itself with not sleep. We are ready for this zogos. We will make sure none of them will ever live in this market. Just how we killed four on Sunday for killing our brother, we will not rest until we kill all of them. My brother, this time around, we will not wait for any police because all of them are part of it.”
Another dweller explained further, “This time, we will be taking the law in our own hand because if sit and do not do something about those criminals, one morning we will wake up and see that zogos have taken over the whole country.”
“If any zogo kills one more resident, we will go after them and kill as many of them as we can because if we do not do so; my brother people will not be able to walk in the streets in daylight anymore due to fear. We will give them the Old Testament that says ‘an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.’ No zogo will go unpunished in this country,” he vented out his anger.
Our reporter could not get the side of the police amidst all efforts to contact police spokesperson, Moses Carter .
