Kickball Federation Seeks
More Attention For Pending Playoff

Ahead of the 2022 national playoff for the promotion of teams in the second Division of the Liberia Kickball Federation, the mother body for kickball activities in the country is calling for more stakeholders’ involvement.
The Federations’ president, Emmanuel Surprise Whea, said kickball is a traditional sport to Liberia and needs more stakeholders’s contribution to its development in order to let the world how that Liberians are supportive of their own sport as compared to other sports practiced around the country.
According to Whea, since the introduction of kickball as a sport in Liberia, female athletes have found joy in showcasing their talents in high schools, communities and county levels which the Liberia Kickball Federation stands committed to its law in pushing to the next level.
“Kickball is a sport owned by Liberia as the very first traditional sport. So we need more of us that are sport lovers to think in the direction of the Liberia Kickball Federation and support our game,” the LKF president said.
Whea maintained that the Liberia Kickball Federation is on the way to another edition of a national playoff to determine who wins the championship and moves to the First Division category to play a tougher and competitive kickball.
He said the prior communication released by the LKF to host the playoff in Margibi County has been confirmed by others in the county and the administration of the Booker T. Washington Institute have agreed to host the opening ceremony and first matches before proceeding to the stadium.
“Our teams are very responsible when it comes to the way they are organized and governed in our activities at the Federation based on the obligations. They are working with the various sub-associations that will come to the central committee in charge of the playoff for participation and success,” he explained.
We are prepared he noted, to go to Margibi County and witness our 20 teams from the five sub-committees of the kickball competition across the country in this national playoff.
According to the LKF Authorities, the teams will arrive in Margibi County Kakata City on September 23 and that the competition that will last till the October 2, 2022.
