The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and partners have officially launched a Website and Emailing System as means of enhancing information dissemination across the land sector of Liberia.
With support from the World Bank, the milestone initiative of the LLA was launched under the theme: “Enhancing the Visibility of the Liberia Land Authority.”
The launching of the site brought face-to-face several CSO land rights working groups including ILAMP projector manager, the head of COMAX ICT and the LLA vice chair among others.
The Liberia Land Authority (LLA), established by an Act of the Legislature on October 6, 2016, as an autonomous agency of the Government with operational independence, subsumes land functions that were performed by several agencies of the Government, including the key land administration agencies.
Launching the website officially yesterday in Monrovia, the LLA vice chair, P. Bloh Sayeh, described the initiative as a dream come true for the authority since its establishment of existence.
According to her, with the launching of the LLA website, it will help in the fight against corruption in the land sector as well as abreast Liberians with the happenings and the day-to-day running of the Authority.
“I am excited to be part of this launching today because this journey has been long from the former administration and into this administration, and today, we are grateful that our dream and plans have now turned into reality,” she said
Madam Saye said further, “And as we begin this new portal that is now opened and being launched, I am happy for this initiative for the government and the LLA because it will help deal and eliminate corruption that will open a door for transparency as well as inform the public of workings.”
She then assured the donors that the newly launched LLA website and emailing system will be used and mange properly by staff that will be trained to managed the site.
Earlier, the website builder from COMAX ICT, George Collins, disclosed that the newly build site is not the first for the LLA instead the second that but stressed that it is of more guaranteed that the first.
He named the areas of services, publications, downloadable resources, gallery and contacts among others as some of the new features that have been added to the new site unless the older one.
Collins then informed the LLA team that plans are under way by his team to ensure the training of some LLA staff that will be in charge of managing the ensuring the uploading of information on the site, while his company will serve as webmaster for the technical aspect the next two years until further notice.
