Some annoyed citizens took to the streets in demand of justice for the death of a woman believed to be in her 30s, identified as Rebecca Togbah in Bong County.
Rebecca Togbah reportedly died in her fiancée’s room early Friday morning and till present; the whereabouts of the fiancée is yet to be known.
Family members and sympathizers along with irritated residents in Totota, Bong County staged a road block in an attempt to call government’s attention to ensure justice for the deceased.
The event led to serious stiffness between residents of Mamou and officers of the Liberia National Police and other elders of Totota Town.
The Mao-community in Totota on the road was called “no go zone” on Friday as the road was blocked from both sides-leading to traffic jammed by protesters due suspicious over the death of lady.
Meanwhile, our reporter said the Police assessment of the body showed that the lady died as a result of suffocation.
According to our reporter in Bong County, the lady reportedly lighted a coal pot in her fiancée’s room due to the acute cold which according to police authority might have led to her death as a result of smoke.
Report says, the police have arrested one survivor who is said to be foreigner and taken to the JFK referral hospital for further examination for inquiries but however, the police authority in Bong called on the community to sign for the survivor noting that he is an innocent person.
The body of Rebecca Togbah was discovered along with some deadly chemicals in the room and up to present, the police have not spoken about that.
Prior to death of the lady according to sources, there had been no news of her illness but unfortunately, she was discovered dead with lots of blood stains.
