Nimba County Based Heaven Eleven Win First Relegation Play-off Match

Sanniquellie-based Heaven Eleven have beaten Pags FC in the first relegation play-off match at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Thursday.
Kwah Gorloryon gave Heaven Eleven a 17 minute lead but Mark Karlay, who was guilty of several missed chances, finally equalized in the 67th minute to send the match to penalties since there is no draw in the relegation play-off.
Heaven Eleven won 4-2 in continuation of the Orange-sponsored LFA second division league.
Both teams drew 1-1 in Sannniquellie, Nimba County on 20 April and goalless at the ATS on 29 June.
The play-offs will continue with two matches on Sunday.
At the ATS, Srimex FC will take on Pags at 2:00p.m in the relegation play-off.
Both teams drew 1-1 at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County on 26 March and 1-1 at the ATS on 8 June.
Jill Blemah of Srimex and Mark Karley of Pags scored in both legs.
It will be interesting to see if the two players will repeat a piece of fantastic history of always scoring when they meet.
And in the promotional play-off, Nimba Kwado will welcome Muscat FC in Sanniquellie, Nimba County at 4p.m.
Both teams drew the first leg 1-1 at the North Star on 5 March while Nimba Kwado won 2-0 in Sanniquellie on 18 May.
The play-off will climax on 24 July when Heaven Eleven takes on Srimex in the relegation play-off at 4p.m at the ATS.
It is Srimex, who have the advantage, having drawn the first leg 1-1 at the ATS on 6 April and won 1-0 in Sanniquellie on 15 June.
Muscat will close the action when they welcome Nimba Kwado at the North Star at 4:00PM.
In the relegation play-offs, each round robin match will produce a winner as there will be post-match penalties in the case of a draw immediately after the regulation time (90 minutes) plus time added on.
The club with the most points from the three-team table will remain in the second division while the bottom two will join Invincible Eleven (IE), Samira FC, Bristol FC and Junior Professionals in the third division.
In the promotional play-offs, the aggregate winner (taking into consideration the away goal rule) will qualify for the first division along with Bea Mountain and Freeport FC, who won qualification after 30 games.
Only players with disciplinary records (red and yellow cards), whose clubs have settled their financial obligations, will be allowed to play in keeping with the notice of reminder sent on 13 July.
Chapter 23, which deals with disciplinary matter (including red and yellow cards), shall be in full force as well as the rules governing the national league in case of dispute.
