For Over US$200,000 Burglary At H & A Corp:
Police Arrest Private Security Guard, 5 Others

At least six persons including a private security guard of vigilant security have been arrested by the Liberia National Police (LNP) in connection to an alleged burglary at the head offices of H & A Corporation located in Clara Town.
Those arrested include Varney Browne, the fellow who allegedly keeps the stolen materials at his St. Paul bridge residence; Roland Kennedy, the Private Security supervisor; David Collins, Leviticus Kerkulah, Nuttu Keita, the alleged buyer and Madison Willie, the driver who operates a Grey Nissan Pathfinder during the night hours of their operations.
According to the entity, they later realized that several valuables were gone missing after taking stock of all materials stored in the warehouse thus amounting to US$257,195.
The six suspects were picked up following an investigation into complaint forwarded to the Crimes Unit of the LNP over the conspicuous disappearances of several valuable items which were being kept at the entity’s warehouse directly behind the building hosting the Guarantee Trust Bank in Clara Town.
The immediate stock-taking process was initiated after receiving a tipoff that several of their goods were being sold for a low cost on the black market.
H & A Corp indicated that some customers had openly agitated that the company has refused to lower the prices of its goods while the very branded-goods are being purchased outside for a reasonable amount.
Based on the responses from customers, the company decided to do a background check and take an infantry of all the goods in stock but they soon realized that a mammoth worth of goods had gone missing without any sign of breakage at the warehouse.
Following such shocking update, the company immediately alerted the private security firm hired to provide security at the site but the effort proved futile as the firm never showed up until the case was formally reported to the Police for a full-scale investigation into circumstances that led to the disappearance of the goods amounting to over US$200,000.
Meanwhile, suspect Jallah Seaker an alleged member of the team is at large while police have begun retrieving several thousand dollars’ worth of the stolen materials. Police sources further hinted that the search is still ongoing as there are new revelations regarding the suspects’ operations.
A LNP source hinted that majority of the materials retrieved were discovered at a shop belonging to one of the suspects, Nuttu Keita, who allegedly runs similar business in the Clara town, Bushrod Island vicinity.
A total of 96 different items including generators, batteries, lubricants, engine oil amongst others were recorded missing.
According to police sources, the suspected criminals admitted that they regularly tampered with the warehouse’s lock during the separate times of the burglary incidents.
Additionally, police sources disclosed that the thievery has been ongoing since January 2022 but, it was recently noticed by the company’s hierarchy.
Meanwhile, the suspects are currently in police custody pending court trial and the Police has vowed to continue its crackdown on all criminal conspiracies and other related crimes in and around the city; D. Webster Cassell writes.
