Weeks-Old Baby Discovered Dead Around Gabriel Tucker Bridge

A child believed to be about two to three weeks’ old was discovered dead on Monday in the vicinity of the Gabriel Tucker Bridge.

The Gabriel Tucker Bridge, which connects central Monrovia to the Bushrod Island, had onlookers on the scene curious and asking hard questions about the lifeless abandoned body.

According to our reporter, the abandoned dead child was wrapped up in a colorful blanket while several pedestrians streamed crossing the Providence Island close to the Slipway Community wanted to catch glimpse of the dead child or the clothe to be identified.

Eye witnesses could not identify any traceable identity of the would-be parents of the dead child’s whereabouts; while other passersby claimed that the would-be parents of the dead child could have allegedly transferred the corpse from a different community.

“I do not know who left this lifeless body here, but God knows who will be the judge between the person and this innocent child,” Jebbeh Sannor, a passerby said.

She went further, “God will punish this person that did this act; that’s all I have to say,” she said.

Another onlooker, Joe Davies, a kekeh rider said, “The person who left this child here is evil. How can someone be this heartless? I am so sad this morning because this child doesn’t deserve this kind of ill-treatment.”

However, as no one could recognize the child or even trace the whereabouts of her actual parents, the scene up to press time remained heartbroken for several Liberians plying the bridge.
