A US-based Liberian humanitarian, Felicia Garlo and team are expected to break grounds for the construction of a modern save home and a school in Gbatala, Bong County early this month.

The project, according to the founder of the Women of Grace Charity International, will be focused on giving kids dignified livelihoods through better shelter and educational environments that will afford them the time to study.

Madam Garlo recounted that since the 2014 EBOLA outbreak which affected many children in the county, they have been catering to their needs.

Speaking to a team of journalists via telephone over the weekend, she pointed out that the decision by her team to construct a save home was triggered by the pregnancy of a 13-year old girl who is being sponsored by their organization.

Amb. Garlo who is also the founder of a Charity Organization named “Women of Grace Charity International” further stated that the save home will cater to over four hundred underprivileged children in central Liberia and other surrounding counties.

“Liberia is a country that is economically challenged and, as such, many children between the ages of 1-17 years are mostly living with a single parent who cannot afford to meet their basic needs and those are the beneficiaries of the save home,” she emphasized.

Amb. Garlo further indicated that despite her American status; her passion to rescue the poor through humanitarian works remains a top priority of her life, adding, “We are expected in Liberia by May 11 of this year to ensure that we affect our dreams through humanitarian works.”

“Our organization strongly believes that there are lots of future leaders in this country that are living underprivileged lives that must be helped by others for the protection of the future of Liberia. So, we are obliged as a team to ensure that the Kids in Gbatala, Bong County get the needed necessary support.

“We are presently taking care of the kids in school and also helping with their feeding, but it’s not enough, because some of the children are not under our full control and it’s really giving us hard time. With that, we strongly believe that the best way out is to build the save home for our loving kids that we dearly cherished,” she intoned.
