MCC Suspends
City Police Director

The Management of the Monrovia City Government has with immediate effect suspended Col. G. Thomas Garwo, Director of Monrovia City Police for action inconsistent with professional ethics and the Rule of Law.
On Saturday, April 9, 2022, Col. Garwo reportedly blocked the entrance leading to a public garage situated on Congo Town Back Road in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned incident did not just pose an unnecessary and uncalled for embarrassment to the management of the garage but also to the public, especially officials of government and private owners whose vehicles were kept in said garage thereby preventing their movement.
Col. Garwo’s action comes at a time the Monrovia City Government mourns at the irreparable loss of the Deputy Director for Operations of the Monrovia City Police, Col. Simeon B. Mayson, whose funeral the management was commemorating in light of his peaceful home-going for which the Monrovia City Government looks to Garwo’s office to exhibit and demonstrate ethical standards at all levels of the City’s security and respect for the Rule of Law.
Col. G Thomas Garwo is being urged to report to the Professional Standards Section of the Monrovia City Police and turn over with immediate effect all properties of the Monrovia City Government within his possession including the vehicle used to block the entrance leading to the garage.
While undergoing investigation, Col. Jimmy Wilson, Deputy Director for Administration will act and manage the affairs of the Monrovia City Police.
