Several residents of Grand Gedeh County are calling for the immediate removal of Superintendent Kai Farley for what they termed as leading the county nonchalantly.
In two separate petition statements, the aggrieved residents under the banner, “Grand Gedeh County Senior Citizens Grievance Committee; Congress for Democratic Change (CDC)” in 10-count petition addressed to Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf and President George Weah, highlighted Superintendent Farley’s deficits thereby warranting his dismissal.
In the document which is in the possession of this paper, signed by G. Sao Gaye, Secretary of the group and approved by its Chairperson, Charles G. Breeze, alleged that the attitude of the superintendent is unfavorable to developments in the county relative to his conduct and behavior.
“His administration is vividly displaying symptoms of laxity, passiveness and corruption. Our superintendent is not development-oriented,” the petitioners alleged.
The aggrieved supporters of Grand Gedeh CDC-Charter further claimed that since Superintendent Farley’s ascendency, there has been no tangible development project that the residents can point at to be proud of.
The petitioners alleged that Superintendent Farley’s leadership has failed to appear before the residents of Grand Gedeh County to give account of the county’s development funds and the rental of the county’s yellow machines within a 30-day timeframe.
“Mr. Minister, we use this opportunity to disclose to you that Superintendent Kai Farley is not productive; rather, he is idle. This kind of characteristic is not in the interest of the common people, and it is dimming the glory of the CDC-led government. He is counter-productive to President Weah’s Pro-poor agenda policy,” the petitioners stated.
“Therefore, we the citizens of Grand Gedeh County, Republic of Liberia, with the power vested in us, in conformity with the democratic doctrine and Constitution of the Republic of Liberia, appeal to His Excellency, President George Manneh Weah through your office to please remove Kai Farley as Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County,” the petitioners craved Minister Sirleaf’s attention.
Supt. Farley who is an entrenched member of the ruling CDC, was presented a damaging petition by a member of his own party, the statement copy which is in the possession of this paper.
In the CDC’s Grand Gedeh County chapter’s petition statement from the Clotetee Town Chairperson, Joseph K. Taryon to President Weah, they stated that the people of the county no longer desire Kai Farley as their Superintendent due to his mal-administrative and alleged “corruptive behavior” against Grand Gedeh County’s citizens.
The petitioners said, “Their decision to continually keep Mr. Farley as Superintendent is making the ruling CDC Party very much unpopular and unfavorable with the electorates of the county as he is in serious conflict with the traditional people, women, elders and the entire citizens of the county.”
“I decided to this solo so as not to implicate others, or not to lead this popular party into public disrepute,” CDC’s local chapter Chairperson, Prof. Taryon admitted.
