BlueCrest has launched a scholarship drive titled, “Let’s Make Liberia Great” (LMLG) to support undergraduates’ throughout the country interested in acquiring higher education in IT and other disciplines.
Speaking during the launch on BlueCrest campus in Congo Town opposite CDC Headquarters, the president of the institution Dr. Umesh Neelakantan said the initiative is a manifestation of BlueCrest motto: “Education for Life” and also a heartfelt desire to support the government’s Pro- poor agenda.
Dr. Neelakantan estimated the worth of the scholarship to be given to only Liberian citizens as US$ 130,000 for undergraduate students interested in pursuing BSc. and BBA Degrees in IT.
He added that LMLG is a fully-funded four-year scholarship drive which will take the successful candidates from freshmen to graduation but stressed that interested individuals must successfully pass their 12th grade (WAEC or equivalent international boards) of 2020 and 2021.
“Let’s Make Liberia Great (LMLG) has been initiated with a vision for addressing a genuine problem of higher education in Liberia,” Dr. Neelakantan stressed.
The BlueCrest boss added that the institution’s mission is to provide higher education to every best possible subset of interest learner in the country as he reaffirmed BlueCrest’s vision of making Liberia the educational hub of Africa.
After commending the Ministry of Education and the National Commission on Higher Education for making higher education impactful and strategic, Dr. Neelakantan also pushed forward his desires to establish an entrepreneurial talent that will build the capacity of young people through expanded and unique national and international collaborations.
“We acknowledge that education is the fundamental key on which the respect for progress of a person will be measured. Higher Education is a major milestone in a learner’s career to make his/her livelihood “Elevated” and also important to the core, the fundamental backup of a country rests on the fundamental status of nurtured talents, innovation, interests and progress of education,” he concluded.
Also buttressing his boss as well as the institution’s ambition, the head of marketing Abhishek Tiwari said BlueCrest’s awareness and campaign through “Let’s Make Liberia Great” will reach each door step, without fail.
Mr. Tiwari mentioned that the Management has observed over the years that there have been many talented and potential young graduates from various high schools across the country with very good grades that desire to enter BlueCrest and other institutions of higher learning but cannot afford the fees. “This scholarship initiative is aimed at addressing this very serious situation,” he intimated.
According to BlueCrest head of Marketing, LMLG will cover a wide range of issues, starting with education or scholarship but will also include agriculture along with other developmental packages.
Interested individuals are required to visit the BlueCrest campus in Congo Town opposite the CDC Headquarters or admission@bluecrestcollege.com to get registered between now and January 20.
On January 22, 2022 an aptitude test will be given to the candidates and at least 30 persons who successfully passed the test will be awarded the scholarship in the first year.
