Boakai Gets UP Support For CPP’s Standard Bearer Post

Ahead of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) convention, the former ruling Unity Party endorses its political leader, Joseph N. Boakai to contest the standard bearer-ship.
In a release issued by the UP’s National Executive Committee, the Unity Party in its full sitting has endorsed Amb. Boakai as its aspirant to participate in the CPP’s selection process of finding a standard bearer.
A formal presentation to partisans of the Unity Party will be done this Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Party’s National Headquarters in Congo Town.
Former Vice President Boakai’s endorsement followed series of Voters’ Perception Survey (VPS) conducted on some of the top-notched radio stations in Monrovia.
Both OK FM and Prime FM VPS reports placed the former Vice President far above “Money-man” Cummings especially amidst the huge endorsement to the Alternative National Congress (ANC) of recent.
But following UP’s decision, some members of the collaborating parties say, former Vice President will not get a free ride contrary to insinuations.
Many supporters who posted on social media indicated that the former Vice President must stand firm to combat the Liberia’s corporate investor in Alexander Cummings, stating, “Mr. Cummings is said to be ever-ready and determined to be the nest President of Liberia by all means.”
Cummings once indicated that the only position he needs to develop Liberia, is the Presidency and this means, he could navigate his way by whatever means to defeat “Joe Boakai” to win CPP’s Presidential ticket to face former footballer President George Weah.
Political pundits believe that President Weah remains the favor despite economic challenges besetting his government and as such, only well grounded, tested and tried politicians can face Weah to win.
